Frequently asked questions
- When is my corporation tax due?
- Corporation tax is due nine months and one day after your accounting period ends. The CT600 must be filed within 12 months of your period end. Missing these deadlines results in automatic penalties and interest.
- What is the current corporation tax rate?
- From April 2023, the main rate is 25% for profits over £250,000. Profits up to £50,000 are taxed at 19% (the small profits rate). Marginal relief applies between £50,000 and £250,000.
- Do you also file year-end accounts?
- Yes. Year-end accounts and the CT600 are usually prepared together. See the Year-End Accounts page for more detail.
